Federation Dance
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, AND THANK YOU!!!! To all my Hi stepper family. We did it!!
Well, after months of planning, hair pulling, and even overcoming those Hi-steppers who where against it, we pulled it off. The Federation dance was a success. I am very proud of the Hi-Steppers who came together and worked together to make it a success. It took all of us, the ones who help with the set up and take down, the kitchen organization with all the food, the ones who helped Pat with the sign in table, the fifty/fifty table, and the club members who showed up to give their moral support. I couldn't have done it with out you.
The one thing I can't understand is the members who fought so hard to make it fail. The club voted to host the federation dance, and they voted to hold it in Camden, these votes were taken and passed. The majority of the Hi-Steppers wanted to have host and hold the dance in our home place. But instead of spending the energy to help make it a great dance that it was there was nit picking and doing anything to tear it down.
The phone calls that I have received from people in other clubs that I didn't know, the calling of John Early, who keeps up the SC Square dance page, to add the extra lines at the bottom of our federation flyer, even a couple of square dancers from the Greenville area who came to me yesterday at the dance telling me of what some Hi-Stepper who stop them in the yard to complain how they didn't want the dance held in Camden, and who were against it being held at the American Legion building. To those Hi-Steppers who tried to make us fail, it didn't work. And it saddens me to think one of own would do this.
To everyone else, again Thank You. See everyone Thursday night.

Tom and Jo Medlin
It is with sadness that 2 of our Hi-Steppers are leaving us. Tom & Jo Medlin have asked for a leave of absense from the Hi-Steppers. We will miss them and look forward to having them visit with us from time to time. We wish them nothing but the best.

It's here. The SC Square & Round Federation Dance. Here in historic Camden. We need all our Hi-Steppers to come out and have a grand time. The American Legion building on Chestnut Ferry St. The grand march will start at 7:15 pm.

Mr. Marvin Davis
It is with a sad heart that I post the loss of one of our Histeppers, Mr. Marvin Davis. We will surely fill the loss of our friend. Even though I only knew him for a short while, he was a great inspiration to me. Lets please keep his family and each other in our prayers. The family will be receiving friends at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden from 6 to 7:30 tonight. Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:00 at the First Baptist Church, Broad St, Camden.
I think the HiSteppers have been asked to attend in there square dance attire.

Richard and Barbara Walker
Hot off the press, Richard and Barbara Walker, fellow Hi-Steppers, are our newly elected Hall of Fame members. They were given there medals and their picture will put up at the barn in the Hall of Fame area. We are proud of them, and thankful for all they do for square dancing and the federation.
Congrats and yellow rocks to them.
