Plus Workshop
I am working on putting together a Plus Workshop for a Sat. If this interest you please let me know. I am thinking, we work on Plus calls for a couple of hours and then work on some couple dance's, then we have a dance that Sat. night to show off our new moves. So basicly this would be a all day affair. Let me know if interested.
SUCCESS
The benefit dance held May 29Th at the Barn was a great success. We raise and sent to the American Red Cross $1520.00. This will go toward the aid of the tornado victims. Way to go square dancers.

Federation Dance
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, AND THANK YOU!!!! To all my Hi stepper family. We did it!!
Well, after months of planning, hair pulling, and even overcoming those Hi-steppers who where against it, we pulled it off. The Federation dance was a success. I am very proud of the Hi-Steppers who came together and worked together to make it a success. It took all of us, the ones who help with the set up and take down, the kitchen organization with all the food, the ones who helped Pat with the sign in table, the fifty/fifty table, and the club members who showed up to give their moral support. I couldn't have done it with out you.
The one thing I can't understand is the members who fought so hard to make it fail. The club voted to host the federation dance, and they voted to hold it in Camden, these votes were taken and passed. The majority of the Hi-Steppers wanted to have host and hold the dance in our home place. But instead of spending the energy to help make it a great dance that it was there was nit picking and doing anything to tear it down.
The phone calls that I have received from people in other clubs that I didn't know, the calling of John Early, who keeps up the SC Square dance page, to add the extra lines at the bottom of our federation flyer, even a couple of square dancers from the Greenville area who came to me yesterday at the dance telling me of what some Hi-Stepper who stop them in the yard to complain how they didn't want the dance held in Camden, and who were against it being held at the American Legion building. To those Hi-Steppers who tried to make us fail, it didn't work. And it saddens me to think one of own would do this.
To everyone else, again Thank You. See everyone Thursday night.
